As the sun disappears...

As long as we have been here in California, now 2 months, we have not once seen the sunset at the beach. Talk about taking things for granted. =) We went to Tamarack Beach in Carlsbad Village  to watch the sunset today. There were alot people thinking the same thing we were.  There is one spot people come to see the sunset, where they have a few benches and some grassy area. You would think sunset and romantic, lets just say people came with thier dogs and single people and people with children.   So there was nothing romantic about it...dogs barking and kids running around. haha.

Umair being Umair! =)

While the sun was setting, my kids we ALL OVER the place. Can  NOT sit still =) so I have some pictures of them being silly!

One word....LEGOLAND! Finally!

LEGOLAND< CALIFORNIA!

The torture is over for the kids, finally we went to Legoland!!! FINALLY! We didn't tell them where we were going, just told them we had to run some errands. They were so upset. WHY DO WE HAVE TO GO? I dont want to go! haha. As soon as they saw that we were entering Legoland. They were so excited and behaving beautifully. Well we bought membership, so maybe for the year they will behave. HA HA I don't think so.I wish  it was that easy!

As we walked up to Legoland, the kids had twinkles in their eyes and they were jumping and full of so much excitement! We grabbed the map and went to the Safari first.
Haseeb's zebra car to match the lego zebras

Umair seriously thinks he is on a safari adventure! =)
The boys got to drive the cars themselves around the safari. Then we headed over to the rollercoaster. Haseeb and I opted out of the ride. With Haseeb's broken arm and the vibration of the coaster, I didn't think it was a good idea.  Majid and fearless Umair went on the rollercoaster, while we went on this LAME LAME LAME storybook ride. It was torture for me, but Haseeb was ohhing and ahhing! =)

I will huff and puff and blow your house down
And then we were off to driving school.  Both Umair and Haseeb got their Legoland driving licenses! Everyone watch out on the roads...=D

driving with one hand, my poor baby!

.
I can do it I can do it! YAY! Confident driver, mA!

One of the best rides was this silly boat ride.  It look like it was going to a real bore but, it was so funny to see all these kids maneuvering the boat in the water with a steering wheel and gas pedal, it was hilarious!
silly boat ride.
Right outside this boat ride was a huge splash park.  The kids could play in the all the fountains and shoot water cannons. Cool thing to do when its 80 plus degrees outside, not when its in the low to mid 60s.  It was chilly no getting wet, that and Haseeb's cast.  (don't need another cast in water episode!)  So right next to that were family dryers....how cool is that. Hey 5 bucks to dry off the whole family! I was just going to stand in there bc it was chilly! haha.
The whole family can dry off in a jiffy!

We did the whole miniature world, kinda cool to see cities made out of legos.  The best one was DC.  They had a motorcade running around DC and the white house with Obama and First Lady.  They really thought of everything. The inaugural parade in front of the capital. The boaters and kayakers in the water.
DC

NYC, they even have the subway in there...under the glass!
There was one intense roller coaster that Haseeb did not get to ride because he was too short. He was so upset that he came up short by a few inches...it was a fun roller coaster. Kinda felt like Majid was driving through the mountains here in Cali! hahaha
looks like transformers...haha.

Mama, when will I grow a little bit? :(

Overall a great afternoon with the kids. We will be visiting again this week sometime and maybe next weekend! We still have to see some of the park, we ran out of time here. its only open from 10am to 5pm.  We ended our trip by meeting Clutch Powers.!! The kids were super excited...
creepy smile! This is Clutch Powers.
I will leave you guys with this...
the bathroom signs. hahaha I loved it, it actually looks like what our kids so when they gotta go...

the only difference is....these signs are stationary and not jumping up and down! hahahaha

Thrown off by the play structure!

What a weekend. We had so many plans for the weekend...but Allah had other plans for us. At 1pm we got a phone call from Haseeb and Umair's Islamic School.  The principal said to come quickly because Haseeb fell off the play structure and hurt his arm and he needs to go to the doctor as soon as possible.  We were about 10 mins away from the masjid.  That was the worst 10 minutes for me. We got to the school Haseeb was a mess. He was crying so much that when I picked him up he sank in to my arms =(. He just kept saying, "it really hurts and I can't move my arm, Mama!" Over and over again.  We rushed him to the Urgent Care as we were told by our insurance.  It was 13 minutes away according to the GPS.  The whole ride I was trying to calm him and try to understand what happened.  Before I left the masjid I asked his teachers what happened, they said noone knows.
When we get to Urgent Care, they needed all of our information...but before I was giving them any information I asked for some ice. As soon as I put some ice on, he calm down a bit. I guess the cold numbed the pain. About 10 minutes later we went in and the nurse asked him what happened, he still wasn't talking...I told her he fell off the play structure and hurt his arm. She gave him some ibuprofen and left the room. With an ice pack and some pain killed Haseeb was back to normal.  Then we asked him what happened. And this is the story he told us.  He was climbing up the stairs on the play structure and his arm got stuck in the railing and he couldn't get it out, so he yanked out his arm and it started to hurt. OUCH!
We got some pictures of his arm and waited for the doctor. Funny thing is that Haseeb was fine. He was being normal. So I just assumed maybe he just pinched his arm and bruised it. When the doctor came in and asked Haseeb where does it hurt he pointed to his arm.  So I proceeded to tell the doctor, he looks fine so I think maybe he just pinched his arm. The doctor then tells me that, "No, no he has a fracture!" I was like what, where? He was in no pain whatsoever acting like a monkey. He took us to the computer and showed us his break!  I was astonished! haha at the fact it wasn't hurting him anymore!  The nurse put on the cast and Haseeb's main concern was, "Where is my shirt!" Poor kid. The second thing he was worried about was,"this is not waterproof, so how will I go swimming?" Big tears coming down his face! =*(

I had to wait for the swelling to go down to get him in a hard cast. We went Monday and he is now in a hard cast. He chose the color blue. I will attach a picture oh him in his cast to this post as soon as Haseeb sits still and lets me take a picture!!!! =)
