What a weekend. We had so many plans for the weekend...but Allah had other plans for us. At 1pm we got a phone call from Haseeb and Umair's Islamic School. The principal said to come quickly because Haseeb fell off the play structure and hurt his arm and he needs to go to the doctor as soon as possible. We were about 10 mins away from the masjid. That was the worst 10 minutes for me. We got to the school Haseeb was a mess. He was crying so much that when I picked him up he sank in to my arms =(. He just kept saying, "it really hurts and I can't move my arm, Mama!" Over and over again. We rushed him to the Urgent Care as we were told by our insurance. It was 13 minutes away according to the GPS. The whole ride I was trying to calm him and try to understand what happened. Before I left the masjid I asked his teachers what happened, they said noone knows.
When we get to Urgent Care, they needed all of our information...but before I was giving them any information I asked for some ice. As soon as I put some ice on, he calm down a bit. I guess the cold numbed the pain. About 10 minutes later we went in and the nurse asked him what happened, he still wasn't talking...I told her he fell off the play structure and hurt his arm. She gave him some ibuprofen and left the room. With an ice pack and some pain killed Haseeb was back to normal. Then we asked him what happened. And this is the story he told us. He was climbing up the stairs on the play structure and his arm got stuck in the railing and he couldn't get it out, so he yanked out his arm and it started to hurt. OUCH!
We got some pictures of his arm and waited for the doctor. Funny thing is that Haseeb was fine. He was being normal. So I just assumed maybe he just pinched his arm and bruised it. When the doctor came in and asked Haseeb where does it hurt he pointed to his arm. So I proceeded to tell the doctor, he looks fine so I think maybe he just pinched his arm. The doctor then tells me that, "No, no he has a fracture!" I was like what, where? He was in no pain whatsoever acting like a monkey. He took us to the computer and showed us his break! I was astonished! haha at the fact it wasn't hurting him anymore! The nurse put on the cast and Haseeb's main concern was, "Where is my shirt!" Poor kid. The second thing he was worried about was,"this is not waterproof, so how will I go swimming?" Big tears coming down his face! =*(
I had to wait for the swelling to go down to get him in a hard cast. We went Monday and he is now in a hard cast. He chose the color blue. I will attach a picture oh him in his cast to this post as soon as Haseeb sits still and lets me take a picture!!!! =)
